Okay, so that's enough for now. Off to bed so I can get up for church in the am!

Time away and growing older......

Okay, so I turned a year older this past week and did what I wanted the most on my birthday...... I took a couple of days off of work and spent a whole day and a half with my favorite man!
We were blessed to be able to take a couple of days to spend with one another and have a mini get-a-way. We went to Nashville, and I have to say I really enjoyed touring the Rhyman auditorium and walking around downtown. We ate at some good resturaunts and just spent some quality time together minus the kids. We missed them very much but they were spending time with Aunt Jenny and Uncle Sammy and little Lilly!(SO precious)

Our time together was so needed and it helped tremendously to soften the reality that I am now in my mid thirties! Yes, I know forty is the new twenty but the mid makes Forty seem so much closer... But, I have to say, I had a really nice day. We had planned to spend a couple of days at home together until David was informed of a meeting on my birthday which was in Nashville. So I said, I will just have to go with. Most of my Birthday was spent alone, but that was just fine with me. You know we mommas don't get that too much! I did things like lay around till check out time, went and saw a movie and ate a nice big burger with Frys (which were really good, since I have been dieting!)Then when David was finished with his meeting we headed home to the kiddos and just chilled as a family, I really was ready to see my kids. All together it was a great day! So, what I thought would be a weird day for me was just the opposite!
Well, I thought I would post some picks so you can see all the fun we had and there is also some of the cutest little 2 month old in the world!

Wisdom

I pray for this daily! No matter how small of big the circumstance may be, I rely on this to get through my days.... This is not the kind of wisdom you get from your momma, your best friend its the kind that comes from one who is all knowing! Now, sometimes God will use his wisdom through those people, but ultimately it is his word and wisdom that helps me to have faith that he has my back.

Here lately I have been struggling with having unwaivering faith in a few areas of my life. And, I was reminded this week that all truth and wisdom comes from the father! So, In church this week our pastor shared 3 steps to take when you feel as though you are worrying about something. So, I thought I would share them.

1. Stop and realize how useless it is to worry! Matthew 6:25-27
2. Pray, prayer brings peace Phillipians 4:6-7
3. Find Gods answer and develope a plan, know that true Wisdom comes from God alone.

I know I have heard this all before but these steps really do put it into easy, manageable steps.

Just a few of those I love!

So, today has been a day! We received about 4 inches of snow today, which is normally a wonderful suprise. However, It took me 3 hours to get home! Can you beleive that? A drive that normally takes me 35 minutes took me 3 hours.........Crazy.Thankfully, I made it home safe and now I am warm in my home with my hubby and kids!
I thought I would post some pics..... Some are of the beautiful crazy snow and some are of my new little niece Lilly who is the cutest!
Hope all of you are warm and comfy at home!

stretched

The last two weeks have been a blur..... Ummm, Lets just say I am so thankful for my God who gives me strength and who stretches me to be prepared for whatever comes my way!

Week before last Eli fell off the skateboard and broke his elbow!  I thought this was nearly impossible, evidently not! So we are now on cast number 2, but I am SO thankful that no surgery was needed. So, with the broken arm (writing arm might I add) comes lots of writing for mom. Which just happened to include finishing a Science fair Project! Can I just say I HATE these things........ I am just thankful it is over and done with! I am not gifted in this area at all, in fact David normally has this base covered, but he has been working A LOT the last few weeks!
Anyway, all of this in addition to working and making sure things are tidy around my house have made me on tired momma! Thank Goodness for my "saving grace" AKA Haley, my 15 year old daughter!
I am thankful for two very amazing kids who are completely different but bless my life daily in so many ways, being a mother is the hardest, most challenging job. But it is also the most rewarding, I would not trade one second of time with my kiddos!
So, we have 2 more weeks in a cast and then we will hopefully be on our way to semi normal! What ever that means..

Well, off to prepare for tomorrow!
